Many early smaller cruising sailboats, circa ’70s-’80s came with Ice boxs, but no refrigeration. Some, like myself, were impressed by the size, insulation, shelving of their Ice Box. Any marina seemed to sell Ice at reasonable prices. A 10 pound bag could keep things cool on a hot humid day for a couple days depending on box location insulation, boat shading etc. If you were in an area with cool evening climate in the winter you could keep things fresh by putting them outside at night. Goes without saying that self-sufficiency is a main zeitgeist of living aboard. Having to constantly seek and purchase ice defeats that ideal and is not a pan geographical practicality. The apparent obvious answer was to install a low power using cooling device into the ice boxs. For many boat owners, what seemed an easy practical solution, turned into a monumental project. #5 can be…

Growing up in LA your sense of it’s being different or strange is not apparent until one gains the perspective of living elsewhere. Even with that experience it can be looked back upon as just the excitement of the entertainment industry which locals downplay to live a normal life. The collective High energy level is real and comes not just from the entertainment industry, but other sub cultures, surfing, latin, automobile, etc. Still a mystical aspect exists that many locals attribute to the above cultures and subs. What UCLA grad and LA native David Mc Gowan exposes with “Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon” the little known, nefarious aspect of the film industry and gives a more precise definition to the magical side of Hollywood. Now in our fifth generation in southern California, being educated in the University of California system and UCLA as David was, can vouch that he comes…

Never dreamed of giving up a high end Multi vitamin supplement. After taking Bio-Age superfood https://bioage.com/ref/67/ for about 5 years, eliminated a multi as the nutrient density of this product took care of the essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients and brought the green supplementation I needed that my food diet wasn’t providing. The litmus test happened when I ran out for a couple weeks. Was working the most physically demanding job I have ever worked, 12-15 miles fast walked or jogged per 8 hour shift at age 56. Worked with guys in their 20’s who had athletic backgrounds. Thought the job would help me stay fit as I aged, but the company liked to take advantage by working us short handed, I digress. Didn’t notice at first, but after a few weeks could tell I didn’t have the same stamina/energy level. Then it dawned on me that I had not…

Had been taking Glutathione supplement for a year when I stumbled on a recommendation for NAC/Glycine on a baby bio tech message board I had been following for a decade. If you are interested in more info on that stock, head over to http://Cerritosinvestments.com. I digress. One post alerted me to a Baylor research article https://www.bcm.edu/news/glynac-supplementation-reverses-aging-hallmarks-in-aging-humans that was an eye opener. Started taking separate NAC https://amzn.to/3HZq0rx and Glycine https://amzn.to/3Y5r8j1 supplements because I could not find much in the combo form let alone at a decent price. Apparently, some regulation may be taking place to affect this rarity of the combo. Correlation is not causation, as they say, but I have not gotten even a cold or allergy over the three months I have been taking NAC/Glycine. Now, we are talking dead of winter, living on a cold sailboat (have a small space heater), and eating a very poor diet lately…
